Every great process they say has a humble beginning. At Beard Bros, we are all about humble beginnings. At nearly 18 months old, Beard Bros isn’t the oldest, ergo most jaded entity in an industry that sometimes takes itself far too seriously. What we are however is a bunch of people with varied skill sets that get the job done… So what’s a typical day like at Beard Bros? Quite simply it is like working in a pastry kitchen. There are two chefs and a number of savants who process the raw ingredients in order to churn out perfect confections that clients absolutely can’t get enough of. So what’s the Beard Bros way then?
A lowdown on the day to day…
The Beard Bros way is a distillation of the founders’ years of experience in the industry, and the way we work can simply be termed as ‘the method, in the madness’. Typically we work weeks in advance, planning for contingencies along the way. For instance once our resident social media wiz Sherel has cracked a couple of weeks concepts and updates, design gurus Mally and Srijani get busy in creating graphics that are both breathtakingly beautiful and alarmingly effective all at once. In the interim, Mel, our client servicing and content head is busy either liaising with clients or plotting the next blog that will get people’s tongues wagging.
So what of the new client pitches…
This is where the Beard Bros way truly shines. A potential client is first and foremost made aware of the fact that the Bros are ever available. A personal phone call from either Mally or Mel is always placed, building initial rapport. Pitches are treated as a calling card, in order to demonstrate our capabilities and understanding of the individual client’s needs.
The pitching process is divided into 3 clear stages:
1. Brief decoding: After an elaborate deliberation with the client, a brief document is read, and re-read until a few clear insights, upon which the entire pitch is based are extracted. Think of it as triple distilling alcohol, for the purest possible concoction. These insights are then futher distilled into propositions, with inputs from the team.
2. Content creation/strategy: Insights and propositions by themselves are called VISION/MISSION statements, and are virtually useless. The process of content creation at Beard Bros, follows one simple belief, “create content that conveys the proposition, simply and succinctly.” In the business of communication, clarity is King, and we believe that simplicity is an art that few master. That being said, we craft pieces that are persuasive, beautiful and clear. We back each piece up with a comprehensive strategy that is geared to helping achieve individual client goals.
3. Packaging/Presentation: Being a visual generation, we are as much about style as we are about substance, and every Beard Bros pitch presentation is a story, a journey that explains each phase of communication in an engaging and well thought out manner.
